Microwave skills are being implemented everyday with one group reading directions and preparing a food using the microwave. They have a choice of Progresso soups, chicken noodle soup, tomato soup, Maruchan noodles, oatmeal and popcorn. A group consists of 2 people and they are only preparing one can or bag per day. Then a sample is being dished out for everyone in the class to try. This activity is not to prepare a lot of food; it is to teach how to open cans, use the microwave and prepare their food into passable containers for sampling. YES, we have eaten some cold soup!
